The ATP Rogers Cup is up among the top tennis sporting events of the year, and the fun begins today at 5pm BST.
A strong field has been assembled in Montreal, Canada with the exception of Roger Federer.
The top eight seeds automatically get a bye in to the second round, so first thoughts are is there any value among these players.
The answer in my eyes yes, but only one.
Nadal seems to have a fairly easy draw up to the quarter final stage. Here he is likely to meet Kei Nishikori ranked five, however Nadal has never lost to Nishikori and will be expected to keep that run going.
Nadal Can Be Expected To Go Well In Montreal At Value Odds |
If Nadal does indeed get the better of this quarter final tussle he can be expected to face Andy Murray in the semi's. However Murray was bitterly disappointing last week losing to Teymuraz Gabashvili ranked 53! He looks 'stale' at present and may not have to much to offer here, although he does go well on this surface.
Rafael Nadal can expected to go well at juicy odds of 14/1.
Others players of interest...
We can not ignore Novak Djokovic who has been the winner here before, but he did slip up here last year against Jo-Wilfred Tsonga.
Milos Raonic, Vasek Pospisil & John Isner (if he can quickly get over last weeks efforts) can all expected to go well at decent odds.
Have a great day.
