Murray Expected To Go Well In The States

Hi

Today I thought we would look at tennis with a number of tournaments get started today.

One tournament that catches the eye is the ATP Citi Open in Washington, US.

A decent field has been brought together here with a number of top ranked players in attendance.

In the top half of the draw we have Britain's Andy Murray, big serving John Isner, In form French player Richard Gasquet and Bulgarian Gregor Dimitrov.

In the bottom half of the draw it looks a little bit easier with big serving South African Kevin Anderson, Giant Croatian Marin Cilic and Japanese sensation Kei Nishikori.

In the bottom half of the draw there are a number of big servers who will be 'belting it out' between themselves. Anderson, Karlovic & Cilic are all capable of beating each other on their day. Nishikori is ranked two here, but there is a lack of confidence in backing at to short odds here, especially when Cilic demolished him on this surface in the US Open last year. I expect Cilic to put up a good performance in the bottom half of the draw, with at least a semi final appearance expected.
Murray expected to go well in Washington

Back to the top half of the draw...
Andy Murray is ranked one here and he can expected to go well. However Murray has had a little time off since he's heroics for Britain in the Davis Cup at Queens Club. The positives are he will be fresh, if not a little 'stale' early doors but does perform well normally on this surface.

Dangers could come from big server John Isner on home soil and in form Richard Gasquet. Bernard Tomic can also be expected to do well and should get the better of out of form Dimitrov. With Murray's guile I would expect him to get the better of a possible match up with Isner who is nothing more than a 'one trick pony'.

My prediction is a possible final between Murray and Cilic.

Advice - Andy Murray to win tournament at 13/8.

Have a great day.
