Are you a gambler or are you an investor?
A gambler is someone who risks their money in the hopes of achieving a desired result, whereas, an investor does their research and invests their money into things they believe are likely to return a positive outcome.
Whichever approach you choose to take will greatly effect the results you will achieve (or fail to achieve) from your betting.
Here’s a few questions you can answer to see which type of bettor you are.
- Do you follow a staking plan?
- Do you have a bankroll put aside, separate from your main money, that you use solely for betting?
- Do you track all of your bets and results?
- Do you know what the strike rate, ROI and average odds was for all your bets within the last month?
- Do you stick with a strategy, system or tipster for picking your selections as a pose to hopping from one system to the next, month after month?
If you answered yes to all of the above questions. Great!
You’re taking a very systematic approach to your betting that will allow you to make some good profits if you keep at it.

If you continue to bet like this you might hit a big winner and make a profit in the short term if you’re lucky.
But you will almost certainly make a loss on your betting in the long haul unless you make some changes.
