An Interview With Neil From Tipster Street

Tipster Street is one of the UK’s leading tipster platforms and it’s run by horse racing enthusiast Neil Stevens-Wood.
I recently got a chance to interview Neil at Tipster Street and ask him a couple of prying questions.
You can read the interview in full below:
When and why did you first become interested in betting and how did that interest end up leading to the existence of Tipster Street?
I first became interested in betting at the age of twelve.
My father has always enjoyed a bet on the horses and although a small bettor has had good success. Even on family holidays my father would get up at the crack of dawn to collect a paper from the nearest newsagents. He would study for an hour before breakfast, then place his bets in town before we got on with the family activities.
It wasn’t long before I was looking at the races each Saturday morning and picking seven horses for the ITV7 as it was known then. My father would take my bet to the local betting shop and I would watch the racing during the afternoon.
From the age of sixteen I started collating data and trying out my own systems and strategies. I was quite successful early on and from that moment I was hooked.
However like many bettors I got a little to greedy & lost my winnings built up over a yearly period.
It was then that I started to look closely at tipster services and products. I came across a few good tipsters, but also many awful ones and I was sure I could do better.
After many years of work and studying I start my own service via a premium rate number(it was a little before the internet boom) and it became very successful. At it’s peak I was receiving over 300 calls per day.
I became recognized in the industry as ‘one of the good guys’ which opened many new doors to racing clubs, trainers and jockeys. At this time I was receiving some very good information and making good money from ‘gambles’. Two that spring to mind were Luca Cumani’s ‘Zaralaska’ that won as promised with its head in its chest ridden by good friend Royston Ffrench.
Another gamble which got me hitting the headlines locally was with Grand National winner Montys Pass from Ireland.
I had heard six months in advance that this horse was being layed out and prepared solely for the race. I decided to place 10% of all my winning investments back on to this horse over this period at odds of 66/1 down to 16/1 on the day. Montys Pass duly obliged & was probably one of the easiest ever winners of the National & won me in excess of £35,000.
I continued to work in the tipping industry and as recently as 2013/14 I was joint owner of betting platform Tipster Warehouse.
After a successful 18 months it became noticeable that me and my business partner wanted to go in different directions.
My business partner wanted to go down the expensive exclusive route, whereas I wanted to offer professional services at value prices. I guess this was down to remembering my earlier assault of trying out ‘pro’ tipsters many years ago!
Therefore I decided to brake ranks and Tipster Street was born.
How do you think Tipster Street compares to similar services and what do you think separates Tipster Street from the competition?
I am eager to offer the best value possible. I remember how difficult it was trying to find successful and profitable tipsters many years ago when I first started out.
Of those tipsters that were profitable, they were simply far to expensive to follow. That is always in the back of my mind when I’m looking for tipsters for the Tipster Street brand.
There are many tipster platforms out there and I believe we now offer the best value around.
Platforms such as Betfan, BettingGods, Sportsworld Publishing, Winners Information Network, BetAdvisor etc. offer many different tipster services, but you can easily pay upwards of £99 a month for their products. Indeed their cheapest services will still cost more than our most expensive of tipsters!
Many of our tipsters are priced under £20 per month with just a hand full currently priced at £24.95 per month.
In the coming weeks ALL of our tipsters will be priced under £20 a month and even bigger savings are available by purchasing our quarterly subscription options.
We also offer two sets of free tips.
The first of these options lets you follow free tips from our Pro Tipsters. Each day we select a tipster from our Pro platform and give you their tips for the day for free. These come in the way of an email direct you your inbox around 11am each morning. We feel this is a great way to see what sort of tips each of our Pro tipsters offer and in the meantime make profits for free along the way.
If you’d like to register to receive free tips from our pro tipsters, just click here, scroll down the page, enter your name & email address and click “sign up here”.
The second option is to follow our trialist tipsters for free.
We have hundreds of tipsters contact us throughout the year in the hope of making a good income from tipping on our platform. But as you can imagine a very high percentage fall by the wayside due to our strict proofing policy. The successful applicants are given the opportunity to join our free trialist area where they can proof their tips openly to the betting public. This is a great way for these tipsters to gain a following, but equally important it gives bettors the opportunity to receive profitable tips each day for free.
Many of our Pro tipsters have joined our platform this way and there are a number of great tipsters currently making very good profits as we speak in our trialist area.
All tipsters are given a rigorous proofing period, some tipsters have been proofing to us for over a year before they are given a spot on our platform. As you will see some of our trialists have been live proofing for six months as we speak.
You can follow along with our trialing tipsters and view all of their past results byclicking here.
Finally, I believe our VIP Club offers absolutely outstanding value that cannot and never will be beaten.
Joining the VIP Club gives members access to ALL of our Pro tipsters for one low monthly price of just £35.
This is cheaper than 99% of our competitors sole tipster services!
All tipster selections are sent to members email inbox by 10:30am each morning. Our tipsters cover almost every sport so there really is something for everyone. The VIP Club also offers further discounts from our business associates as well as monthly cash prize draws and racecourse tickets.
You can find out more about our VIP club by clicking here.
All in all we believe we offer the best value around. We have some fantastic tipsters of which all are profitable in the long term. Many of our tipsters have been around for over three years and continue to provide profits for their members.
One last thing… Just in case you feel we don’t offer enough value, we offer a 75% discount on all first month subscriptions to ALL tipsters – So you can get started from as little as £2.79 a month.

PREMIER LEAGUE MATCH PREVIEWS – SUNDAY MAY 15

(All matches kick off at 1500)

We already know that Leicester City are champions and that Aston Villa, Norwich City and Newcastle United are the relegated teams. The issues to be settled this weekend centre around the battle to secure places in the two European football club competitions.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

1 Leicester City 80pts
2 Tottenham Hotspur 70pts
3 Arsenal 68pts (Goal difference +25)
4 Manchester City 65pts (Goal difference +30)
5 Manchester United 63pts (Goal difference +12)

The top three will go straight through to the group stage of next season’s UEFA Champions League. Leicester and Tottenham will be there, and they will be joined by Arsenal if they gain at least a draw from this weekend’s matches. Otherwise, Manchester City can grab third place with a win.

The team finishing in fourth place will secure a place in the final qualifying round of the Champions League. Discounting the mathematical improbability of sixth placed West Ham making up a goal difference deficit of 15, Manchester United are the only team that could force their way into the top four, but this would require them to win and Manchester City to lose, given City’s goal difference advantage.

Arsenal v Aston Villa
Positions: Arsenal 3rd, Aston Villa 20th

Form (league matches only – earliest matches first):

Arsenal
DDWDWD (10pts)

Aston Villa
LLLLLD (1pt)

  • Arsenal have turned into something of a draw specialist during their nine match unbeaten run, and Villa finally managed to secure a draw in their last match to end an 11 match losing run. But given the way Villa’s time in the Premier league has ended with a whimper, Arsenal must be strongly fancied here. Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck starts a nine month injury lay off, but Jack Wilshere may start – is it too late for him to grab a place in the Euros?

Manchester United v Bournemouth
Positions: Man Utd 5th, Bournemouth 16th

Form:

Man Utd
LWWDWL (10pts)

Bournemouth
LWLLLD (4pts)

  • On recent form, United have to be favourites. They will also have to start the game going all out for the win that could yet take them into the top four, but the atmosphere at Old Trafford may be dented if news comes through that their local rivals are ahead. United’s Marouane Fellaini is still suspended.

Swansea City v Manchester City
Positions: Swansea 11th, Man City 4th

Form:

Swansea
DWLLWW (10pts)

Man City
WWDWLD (11pts)

  • Swansea have scored seven goals in winning the last two, but will again rest their Euro 2016 bound players. The Manchester side have a poor away record this year, so can they deliver the goods when they need a result to make sure of Champions League qualification? Maybe a draw is on the cards here, despite the expected return to the side of City’s Samir Nasri?

EUROPA LEAGUE

5 Manchester United 63pts (Goal difference +12)
6 West Ham United 62pts (Goal difference +15)
7 Southampton 60pts (Goal difference +15)
8 Liverpool 59pts (Goal difference +13)

The teams finishing fifth and sixth will definitely qualify for the Europa League, so Manchester United know they have some form of European football next year. A win for Southampton or Liverpool would knock West Ham out of sixth place were they to lose, as would a win for Southampton and a draw for West Ham.

If United win next week’s FA Cup final, the seventh placed team will also reach the Europa League, so Southampton could make sure of this with a win. Liverpool would go seventh if they won and Southampton drew.

The fifth placed finisher will go straight through to the group stages of the Europa League, as will the FA Cup winner, or the sixth placed finisher if United win the FA Cup. Other teams will need to contest the final qualifying round.

Liverpool can still secure an additional place in next year’s Champions League by winning Wednesday’s Europa League final against Sevilla. However, this will not hand England a replacement Europa League spot, so there is no way eighth place can deliver European football.

Southampton v Crystal Palace
Positions: Southampton 7th, Crystal Palace 14th

Form:

Southampton
LWDWWW (13pts)

Crystal Palace
WDDLLW (8pts)

  • Southampton are ending the season in excellent form, playing some hugely entertaining football. Crystal Palace will surely rest players ahead of the FA Cup final, while those that do play may be more concerned about not getting injured, so the Saints start as strong favourites. They may get a further boost if Sadio Mane is deemed fit to return.

Stoke City v West Ham United
Positions: Stoke 10th, West Ham 6th

Form:

Stoke
DLLLDL (2pts)

West Ham
DDWWLW (11pts)

  • Stoke have recorded another very respectable mid-table finish, but recent results have not been good, and West Ham will expect to take the points here. Stoke’s Stephen Ireland broke his leg in training this week.

West Bromwich Albion v Liverpool
Positions: West Brom 15th, Liverpool 8th

Form:

West Brom
LLLDLD (2pts)

Liverpool
WWDLWD (11pts)

  • Although Liverpool’s focus may be more on this year’s Europa League final than making sure they qualify for the competition next year, few would back West Brom (no win in eight) with much confidence. Liverpool’s Danny Ings could return after a long absence, as could Jordan Henderson.

OTHER MATCHES

Chelsea v Leicester City
Positions: Chelsea 9th, Leicester 1st

Form:

Chelsea
LLWDLD (5pts)

Leicester
WWDWDW (14pts)

Chelsea have not finished the season strongly, and Leicester will fancy ending their miraculous campaign with a win. Danny Drinkwater returns from suspension for Leicester, but Robert Huth does not. John Terry is suspended for Chelsea but their goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois should return after an illness.

Everton v Norwich City
Positions: Everton 12th, Norwich 19th

Form:

Everton
DDLWLL (5pts)

Norwich
WLLLLW (6pts)

  • Two sides who have had a disappointing campaign could serve up a goal feast here – Everton’s problem has been keeping them out rather than scoring, and Norwich hit four on Wednesday night in a futile attempt to stave off relegation. Joe Royle and David Unsworth are in caretaker charge of Everton, who could have Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman back from injury.

Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur
Positions: Newcastle 18th, Tottenham 2nd

Form:

Newcastle
LWDDWD (9pts)

Tottenham
DWWDDL (9pts)

  • A five match unbeaten run has not been sufficient to save Newcastle from relegation. But this recent form suggests Newcastle can again get something out of this match, provided the players can shut out the inevitable protests against the Board that will ring out around St James’s Park. Moussa Dembele remains suspended for Spurs.

Watford v Sunderland
Positions: Watford 13th, Sunderland 17th

Form:

Watford
DWLWLL (7pts)

Sunderland
LWDDWW (11pts)

  • Sunderland are finishing in excellent form, so unless the players relax in the knowledge they are now safe in the league for another season, they must be fancied here.

Departing managers

Sunday’s matches could be a farewell for a number of Premier League managers:

  • Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City) – a definite departure. It was announced some months ago that Pep Guardiola would be taking over at the Etihad next season.
  • Eric Black (Aston Villa) – Black ended the season in caretaker charge after two permanent managers were sacked by the struggling Birmingham team. Villa will expect to have a new manager for the start of next season as they begin life in the Championship.
  • Guus Hiddink (Chelsea) – after a second spell as Chelsea’s interim manager, the Dutchman will be replaced by Antonio Conte for next season.
  • Roberto Martinez (Everton) – was sacked on Thursday as a disappointing campaign comes to a close.
  • Quique Sanchez Flores (Watford) – Watford’s owners are known for their lack of patience with managers, and the club’s slide down the table in recent weeks has led them to decide it’s time for another change. He will leave after Sunday’s match.
  • Rafael Benitez (Newcastle United) – It was always difficult to see him managing in the second tier, and he is understood to have a break clause in his contract should the Magpies be relegated.
  • Arsene Wenger (Arsenal) – possibly the least likely of those on this list to lose his job, but some fans remain disgruntled after another season where they failed to mount a serious title challenge.
  • Louis van Gaal (Manchester United) – the media have predicted his sacking for most of the second half of the season, but the man described as ‘Red Man Walking’ is still in charge at Old Trafford. If he delivers a Champions League place and possibly the FA Cup as well, will the United board really want to make a change?

PREMIER LEAGUE MATCH PREVIEWS – SATURDAY MAY 7 – SUNDAY MAY 8

Norwich City v Manchester United – Saturday 1245

Positions: Norwich 19th, Man Utd 5th

Form (League matches only – earliest matches first):

Norwich
DWWLLL (7pts)

Man Utd
WWLWWD (13pts)

  • Norwich are sure to be fighting hard, but spirit may not be enough as they face a United side in their best form of the season. United must be favourites even though Marouane Fellaini starts a three match ban.

Aston Villa v Newcastle United – Saturday 1500

Positions: Aston Villa 20th, Newcastle 17th

Form:

Aston Villa
LLLLLL (0pts)

Newcastle
LLWDDW (8pts)

  • Villa managed to lead 2-1 against Watford last week, before their injury time capitulation condemned them to an 11th straight defeat. Can they summon up some of the same form they showed for 89 minutes at Watford in this encounter? However, Villa probably prefer playing away at the moment, and with their protesting supporters not creating a positive atmosphere at Villa Park, coupled with the potential psychological damage of the way their last match ended, indications suggest Newcastle could secure another vital win here.

Bournemouth v West Bromwich Albion – Saturday 1500

Positions: Bournemouth 15th, West Brom 14th

Bournemouth
LLWLLL (3pts)

West Brom
DLLLDL (2pts)

  • So how will an encounter between two sides who are now mathematically safe, but who are both in poor form, pan out? Expect a low key encounter where one goal either way may be enough.

Crystal Palace v Stoke City – Saturday 1500

Positions: Crystal Palace 16th, Stoke 10th

Form:

Crystal Palace
DWDDLL (6pts)

Stoke
WDLLLD (5pts)

  • This may also not be the most keenly contested encounter, but with Stoke’s recent defensive problems, Palace could claim what would be just their second league win of the year. However, this match does see a team whose focus appears to be on the FA Cup final with one whose focus appears to be on the end of the season.

Sunderland v Chelsea – Saturday 1500

Positions: Sunderland 18th, Chelsea 9th

Form:

Sunderland
DDLWDD (7pts)

Chelsea
DWLLWD (8pts)

  • Seeing the level of effort they put into Monday night’s match, an uninformed observer could have been forgiven for thinking Chelsea were themselves in title contention, rather than simply trying to stop their rivals Tottenham from claiming the prize. The intensity could be much reduced here, and Sunderland may fancy their chances of getting something, even if it may just be an extension of their recent run of draws.

West Ham United v Swansea City – Saturday 1500

Positions: West Ham 6th, Swansea 13th

Form:

West Ham
DDDDWW (10pts)

Swansea
WDWLLW (10pts)

  • In an act of kindness towards international teams rarely seen from top clubs, Swansea are set to rest their Welsh internationals Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor to allow them to prepare for Euro 2016. With West Ham still not out of the race for the top four, expect the Hammers to prevail.

Leicester City v Everton – Saturday 1730

Positions: Leicester 1st, Everton 11th

Form:

Leicester
WWWDWD (14pts)

Everton
LDDDLW (6pts)

  • So this is it – the homecoming of the newly crowned league champions. It’s a chance for players and supporters alike to celebrate Leicester’s unlikely title win, and with all pressure removed, this could be the day that Leicester turn on the style on the pitch, and it may be Everton who suffer. Jamie Vardy returns from suspension, but team mate Danny Drinkwater is now obliged to sit this one out after his red card at Old Trafford, as is Robert Huth, who starts a three match ban for his actions in the same match.

Tottenham Hotspur v Southampton – Sunday 1330

Positions: Tottenham 2nd, Southampton 7th

Form:

Tottenham
WDWWDD (12pts)

Southampton
WLWDWW (13pts)

  • So how will Tottenham react to seeing their title hopes slip away? Spurs are still not certain of second place, but with the big prize having gone, how much of an incentive will that be? Southampton were in exhilarating form last weekend, even though they were playing a weakened Manchester City, and Tottenham’s defence will need to be on top form to keep them out. At time of writing, no bans had yet been imposed on either Erik Lamela or Moussa Dembele for their actions in Monday’s stormy encounter with Chelsea. Dele Alli remains suspended.

Liverpool v Watford – Sunday 1600

Positions: Liverpool 8th, Watford 12th

Form:

Liverpool
DWWWDL (11pts)

Watford
LLDWLW (7pts)

  • Liverpool had been in excellent form, until a weakened side lost last weekend. Brad Smith is suspended after his red card in that match, but may not have played anyway, as with the Europa semi-final now completed, Liverpool are likely to revert to full strength, and should have enough to see off Watford.

Manchester City v Arsenal – Sunday 1600

Positions: Man City 4th, Arsenal 3rd

Form:

Man City
WWWDWL (13pts)

Arsenal
WDDWDW (12pts)

  • City were another side that lost last weekend after fielding a weakened side for a match that fell between the two legs of a European semi-final. With the Blues still not sure of their place in next season’s Champions League, the big names will surely be back for this one, but with Arsenal unbeaten in eight, City’s stars will need to be on top form to claim three points. Vincent Kompany’s latest injury will not help City’s chances.
