EURO 2016 QUARTER-FINAL MATCH PREVIEWS – THURSDAY JUNE 30 – SUNDAY JULY 3

Poland v Portugal – Thursday 2000

Tournament form:

Poland: Group – 1-0 v Northern Ireland, 0-0 v Germany, 1-0 v Ukraine: Knockout – 1-1 v Switzerland (5-4 on pens)

Portugal: Group – 1-1 v Iceland, 0-0 v Austria, 3-3 v Hungary; Knockout - 1-0 (aet) v Croatia

Leading scorers:

Poland: Jakub Blaszczykowski 2, Portugal: Luis Almeida da Cunha 2, Cristiano Ronaldo 2

Typical tournament odds:

Poland 16-1, Portugal 7-1

·         Portugal are in to the last eight without having recorded a win inside 90 minutes. That said, Poland have also reached this stage with only three goals in four matches. Expect a tight match, which unless Portugal’s stars can shine, may go Poland’s way. You would expect Robert Lewandowski to score at some stage in the tournament – is this the day?

Wales v Belgium – Friday 2000

Tournament form:

Wales: Group – 2-1 v Slovakia, 1-2 v England, 3-0 v Russia; Knockout – 1-0 v Northern Ireland

Belgium: Group - 0-2 v Italy, 3-0 v Ireland, 1-0 v Sweden; Knockout – 4-0 v Hungary

·         Wales now carry the hopes of the home nations on their own shoulders. However, Belgium look to be improving all the time after a disappointing home match, and they played some superb football against Hungary last time out. If they can reproduce anything like that form, then not only are they favourites for this match, but also favourites to reach the final.

Leading scorers:

Wales: Gareth Bale 3, Belgium: Romelu Lukaku 2

Typical tournament odds:

Wales 25-1, Belgium 4-1

Germany v Italy – Saturday 2000

Tournament form:

Germany: Group – 2-0 v Ukraine, 0-0 v Poland, 1-0 v Northern Ireland; Knockout – 3-0 v Slovakia

Italy: Group – 2-0 v Belgium, 1-0 v Sweden, 0-1 v Ireland; Knockout – 2-0 v Spain

·         A match worthy of the final, but which is instead only a quarter final in the toughest half of the knockout draw. Germany are yet to concede, and Italy are also yet to concede in matches where they have played their first choice players. This suggests that, for all the quality forward players on display, this may not be a goal fest. But if Italy produce the performance they showed against Spain once again, even Germany could struggle.

Leading scorers:

Germany: Mario Gomez 2, Italy: Graziano Pelle 2

Typical tournament odds:

Germany 3-1, Italy 6-1

France v Iceland – Sunday 2000

Tournament form:

France: Group – 2-1 v Romania, 2-0 v Albania, 0-0 v Switzerland; Knockout – 2-1 v Ireland

Iceland: Group – 1-1 v Portugal, 1-1 v Hungary, 2-1 v Austria; Knockout – 2-1 v England

·         Iceland’s dream continues after surely their greatest ever international occasion when they beat England. Their tactics are likely to remain unchanged against France, with the hosts enjoying the lion’s share of possession as they seek to break down a massed defence. However, Antoine Griezmann and co are a clinical strike force, and this is likely to be the end of the adventure for Iceland.

Leading scorers:

France: Antoine Griezmann 3, Iceland: no player with more than 1

Typical tournament odds:

France 3-1, Iceland 40-1

EURO 2016 ROUND OF 16 MATCH PREVIEWS – SATURDAY JUNE 25 – MONDAY JUNE 27

Switzerland v Poland – Saturday 1400

Tournament form:

Switzerland – 1-0, 1-1, 0-0 (2nd in group)

Poland – 1-0, 0-0, 1-0 (2nd in group)

·         In a tournament of tight matches, these two sides have each had three closely fought, attritional encounters. This match may well be settled by one goal either way, so getting in front will be crucial.

Wales v Northern Ireland – Saturday 1700

Tournament form:

Wales – 2-1, 1-2, 3-0 (1st in group)

Northern Ireland – 0-1, 2-0, 0-1 (3rd in group)

·         Northern Ireland have now gone 16 matches without conceding more than one goal, but Wales have more players who can produce individual moments to turn a match in their favour. Wales’ Gareth Bale is the tournament’s top scorer.

Croatia v Portugal – Saturday 2000

Tournament form:

Croatia – 1-0, 2-2, 2-1 (1st in group)

Portugal – 1-1, 0-0, 3-3 (3rd in group)

·         Portugal are the only team to make the last 16 without winning a match, while Croatia have done superbly well to top a group that included defending champions Spain. Cristiano Ronaldo found some form in the final group match, but unless he can produce more magic here, Croatia look to have the stronger team.

France v Ireland – Sunday 1400

Tournament form:

France – 2-1, 2-0, 0-0 (1st in group)

Ireland – 1-1, 0-3, 1-0 (3rd in group)

·         Ireland did terrifically well to beat Italy, even with the Azzurri resting key players, but France have looked good so far and more than the ‘luck of the Irish’ will be required to eliminate the host team.

Germany v Slovakia – Sunday 1700

Tournament form:

Germany – 2-0, 0-0, 1-0 (1st in group)

Slovakia – 1-2, 2-1, 0-0 (3rd in group)

·         The world champions are still to concede in the tournament. Germany also created 28 chances and had 71% possession in their last group match against Northern Ireland, and on another day would have scored a hatful. For all the defensive resilience Slovakia showed against England last time out, Germany have to be fancied here.

Hungary v Belgium – Sunday 2000

Tournament form:

Hungary – 2-0, 1-1, 3-3 (1st in group)

Belgium – 0-2, 3-0, 1-0 (2nd in group)

·         Possibly the round of 16 match that has the highest potential for goals. Hungary have been the surprise team of the tournament, while Belgium’s so-called golden generation are once again failing to convince, so Hungary might have enough to edge this one.

Italy v Spain – Monday 1700

Tournament form:

Italy – 2-0, 1-0, 0-1 (1st in group)

Spain – 1-0, 3-0, 1-2 (2nd in group)

·         Quite simply the outcome of this heavyweight clash is dependent on who performs better on the day. Italy’s defeat to Ireland is unlikely to have hit their confidence too much, given they fielded a second string side and had already won their group. The chances are that a penalty shoot-out will be required in at least one of the round of 16 matches – is this the most likely?

England v Iceland – Monday 2000

Tournament form:

England – 1-1, 2-1, 0-0 (2nd in group)

Iceland – 1-1, 1-1, 2-1 (2nd in group)

·         England have dominated chances and possession in all three matches so far, but have struggled to break teams down, with their only win coming via a stoppage time intervention. Iceland will surely line up with a massed defence and challenge England to break their resolve. However, England must be fancied – man-for-man they have a much better team on paper, and Iceland are the only team to have progressed without keeping at least one clean sheet.

EURO 2016 MATCH PREVIEWS – SATURDAY JUNE 18 – WEDNESDAY JUNE 22

Group E – Belgium v Ireland – Saturday 2000
Tournament records: Belgium 0-2, Ireland 1-1
Belgium’s defensive injuries were apparent in their defeat to Italy, and if Ireland can reproduce the performance they showed for most of the match against Sweden then the Belgian ‘golden generation’ could once again fail to deliver at a major tournament.

Group F – Iceland v Hungary – Saturday 1700
Tournament records: Iceland 1-1, Hungary 2-0
Iceland will have been targeting this as a winnable game from the start of the tournament, and they will still feel they can win. However, Hungary will undoubtedly be buoyed by their win as underdogs over Austria.

Group F – Portugal v Austria – Saturday 1700
Tournament records: Portugal 1-1, Austria 0-2
Both sides will be disappointed with their opening match displays, however Portugal may have enough to edge this one.

Group A – Romania v Albania & Switzerland v France – Sunday 2000
Tournament records: Romania 1-2, 1-1, Albania 0-1, 0-2, Switzerland 1-0, 1-1, France 2-1, 2-0
The Romania-Albania game is something of a must win for both sides, and perhaps Romania have the edge and can claim third place as a result. The four best third placed sides across the six groups will make the knockout stages. The Switzerland-France game will see the hosts top the group if they draw, while a Switzerland win will deliver them top spot. France have not produced great football at all stages of their first two matches, but they have come through to win each time, and a third win for Les Bleus looks most likely here.

Group B – Russia v Wales & Slovakia v England – Monday 2000
Tournament records: Russia 1-1, 1-2, Wales 2-1, 1-2, Slovakia 1-2, 2-1, England 1-1, 2-1
England may be especially keen to win so they can top the group and claim the supposedly easier last 16 tie – a match that will be played in Paris, close to their team hotel. They have certainly had the better of both of their matches so far even if the performances have not delivered a full six points. It’s nothing less than a must win for Russia who have disappointed so far, while Wales and Slovakia both have one win and one defeat and will be looking to cement their place in the next stage. Wales and England may start these matches as favourites.

Group C – Northern Ireland v Germany & Ukraine v Poland – Tuesday 1700
Tournament records: Northern Ireland 0-1, 2-0, Germany 2-0, 0-0, Ukraine 0-2, 0-2, Poland 1-0, 0-0
The fact that only eight teams drop out of the competition after the group stages means that even teams with two defeats so far could still have something to play for – one win could see you through. However, Ukraine will need to improve massively if they are to beat Poland, who are yet to concede. Northern Ireland were justifiably proud of their performance against Ukraine, but are likely to find Germany- also yet to concede- just too strong.

Group D – Croatia v Spain & Czech Republic v Turkey – Tuesday 2000
Tournament records: Croatia 1-0, Spain 1-0, Czech Republic 0-1, Turkey 0-1
Spain and Czech Republic look the stronger teams here, but Spain struggled to break down the Czechs and may find that Croatia are no pushovers either.

Group E – Italy v Ireland & Sweden v Belgium – Wednesday 2000
Tournament records: Italy 2-0, Ireland 1-1, Sweden 1-1, Belgium 0-2
Despite their opening day failure, given the quality of their squad on paper Belgium will start as favourites against Sweden. Ireland may need more than luck on their side though.

Group F – Hungary v Portugal & Iceland v Austria – Wednesday 1700
Tournament records: Hungary 2-0, Portugal 1-1, Iceland 1-1, Austria 0-2

Iceland had to defend for large proportions of their match against Portugal, but arguably created the better chances, and this is another match the championship’s smallest nation could easily win. Portugal do not appear to have strength in depth, despite having the best player in the world, and Hungary could push them all the way.

We're Back In Business

It's been a while since we uploaded a blog.

This is down to major changes at Tipster Street HQ.

We are looking to possibly move business premises to Cyprus if we can find a suitable location.

In the past few weeks me and my associates have been clocking up the miles in and around the Pathos (or Pafos as the locals call it) to find suitable premises. We have a couple of 'irons in the fire' which we shall revisit in the coming weeks.

So sorry for the lack of blog content, but more importantly this is the reason why the free tips from our 'triaist tipsters' has taken a break.

But the engines have once more been ignited, and we hope to be in fifth gear with all trialist tipsters in the next few days.

At the bottom of this blog we have the tips from two of our trialist tipsters, please check them out below and don't forget to check out all of free trialist tipsters each day by following the link at https://www.tipsterstreet.com/trialists.php

How Consistent Should A Tipster Be?

We get asked this question a lot...

To be honest there is no correct answer.

There is a number of reasons why.

*Tipsters stake differently.

*Tipsters look for different kinds of value.

*Tipsters advise different amount of selections per  day/week.

One thing that can be said for certain is that if your tipster concentrates on shorter priced selections, they will need a higher strike rate than an 'Each Way' tipster.

In general I would personally like to have a tipster profiting two months from every three (or 66% of the time).

But that doesn't mean that all their tips should produce a 66% win strike rate. Tipsters will have good periods and poor, even during a month there will be up's and downs.

The best way of checking if your tipster is winning 66%+ of there months is by simply keep a log of monthly profit/loss figures.

At Tipster Street this is new feature that will be widely available on our websites very soon.

Below you can see how consistent each tipster has been on our platform.

Green shows a profitable month, with red showing a losing month.

Of course when looking for the right tipster for you (everyone has different individual requirements) this is just step one of a variety of checks you should make before 'signing up'.

The biggest 'rule of thumb' is that bettors do not check out a tipsters worst losing run. This is a bad mistake. After all you need to know if your betting bank can swallow a tipsters worst losing run.

If wanting to build a betting bank steadily and quickly we would suggest following a tipster who concentrates on the shorter priced horses and win markets. Remember, if a tipsters average winner is priced 5/4 you only need a 50% strike rate to make a profit in the long term.

There's much more to following a tipster than following their tips each day. It's important that they are offering what you are looking for.

Exciting Times Ahead....

The past few months has seen the Tipster Street platform grow rapidly.

We are finally becoming recognised as a platform that cares about the betting public.

When we started the platform a few years ago it was our aim to provide the best possible value.

We didnt want to be a platform following other tipsters who charge £30, £40, £50 or even £60 plus per month for tipsters.

Hell, some of these guys may be good, but you would have to stake fairly high just to make a profit on your annual subscription!

This is why no matter which way you turn, our website is packed full of value & freebies.

Firstly there are our daily free tips selected from our Pro Tipsters. These tips made followers over £536 per month to £10 stakes last year!

We also offer hundreds of free tips each week on our trialist area.
This area currently has seven tipsters trialing their tips 'live' to the world. Its completely free to view and why wouldnt you with some magnificent tipsters there making big profits for free. As we speak there are three tipsters who have yet to have a losing month!

Then of course we have our Pro Tipsters who are reasonably priced starting from just £2.49 a month!

If thats not a big enough of saving then why not try our VIP Club, here you can gain access to all of our tipsters for a one off payment of £35 a month!

Check out all our freebies and value tipsters at tipsterstreet.com
